Avó-Avoa — grandfather, grandmother, in Galician — is a collection of unisex scarves woven from alpaca and linen on a traditional loom in Allariz, in the green northwest corner of Spain. The name is a tribute to the resilience and knowledge carried across generations of textile artisans in the north of Spain. Light enough to wear through the warmer months, substantial enough to earn its place in winter — a scarf that doesn't ask you to choose a season. Each piece is a limited edition, woven individually. No two are the same.
Made by Inés Rodríguez — Gold Medal, European Textile & Craft Award 2026.

Alpaca and linen together is an unusual pairing — warmth without weight, structure without stiffness. It takes a weaver who understands both materials at the thread level to make that combination work. The Avó-Avoa is the kind of piece you reach for without thinking, which is the highest compliment a textile can earn.
