La Rioja is known around the world for its amazing wines, and there is yet something else that has taken this region of Spain to the international scene: mohair textiles by Mantas Ezcaray. Still a small operation run by the 3rd generation, Mantas Ezcaray continues the dream of Cecilio Valgañón, who in 1930 founded in the village of Ezcaray the company that would transform the production of textiles in the area where handloom woven products were a tradition because of its cold winters. Valgañón introduced vibrant designs using mohair fibers, elevating its throws, blankets and scarves to luxury goods that soon gained national recognition and are today looked after by design connoisseurs around the planet. 

Mantas Ezcaray continues manufacturing their textiles honoring the artisanal methods and the high craftsmanship standards established by its founder. Using only wool of supreme quality sourced from providers committed to sustainable practices, the fibers are washed, dyed and woven by hand resulting in heirloom pieces of extraordinary softness and warmth.
