A crack in the pavement. A stem pushing through asphalt. That's where the Kibo begins — with the idea that something alive will always find its way through something permanent. The vase is bottomless by design: a small container of water sits beneath it, hidden, while the stems thread upward through solid cement. What you see is flowers erupting from stone. What you don't see is the intelligence behind it.
A form like this can't be thrown on a wheel. Every Kibo is built entirely by hand — one day of work, one vase. No two openings identical, no two surfaces exactly the same.

Details
We had seen a lot of vases. The Kibo stopped us because it doesn't behave like one. The water is hidden. The stems disappear into cement. The flowers look like they broke through on their own. That tension — between what's there and what isn't — is what makes it impossible to ignore.
